Wee Florist Card

Hi there

I have been enjoying making my cards lately, today I have another one finished, using the very cute digi image "Wee Florist" by Sylvia Zet at Whimsey Stamps

The card layout is based on one by Bev Rochester who does the most amazing cards, she is one very talented lady.  The papers are from the Bo Bunny - Vicki B Collection paper pad, they are really bright and vibrant.  Sorry my photos are not the best, as have taken them at night time trying to use my small daylight lamp.

Some close up pics.......

I am not sure about her hair colour, I used my Spectrum Noir pens to colour the image in and wanted a change from the brown hair I had been doing, but it really is quite yellow, but to be honest has grown on me :) Let me know what you think!

The flowers and silver corners are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, the punch is Martha Stewart's Doiley Lace and a Spellbinder die used to frame the picture.  The sentiment is a Lily of the Valley stamp.

The insides.......

The photos really aren't doing the colours justice, sorry about that :( I will blame Rach for insisting I put this card up tonight, have been having major computer issues as well, may need a new computer arrggghh!!!

Closeup pics of the insides.......

These WOC flowers are Champayne/Pink coloured and are one of my favourite colours.

The back was kept very simple this time.......

Well hubby is telling me its bed time so better dash, thanks for stopping by, hope you liked what you sore (even with the bad photography).

Until next time, take care and enjoy your day.
Cheers
Joanne

Saturated Canary Card 2

Hi there

Well still not sure where to start with creating, so I thought I would show you my other card I made last week also, I am trying to build up my stash of cards so that I am more organised when birthdays come around. :)

This is the same image from Saturated Canary as my last card, it is amazing at how just using different colours can change the whole look.  I have again coloured with my Speccies.

I based part of this layout from a card I had saved a picture of last April by Kim Gruetzmacher, check out her blog she does amazing cards.

Some close ups.......
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts as is the lace, the seam binding was a prezzy from a special friend.  I love the Martha Stewart Scroll Heart Punch its grogeous!!!  The stiching is one of the pre-sets on my Janome sewing machine, it has hundreds to choose from :)

Pics of the inside.......

I decided to try and do the insides without actual flowers for a change, so instead I used the very cute and sparkly Kaisercraft - Heart Sparklets and their standard rhinestones.  The paper is from Prima's - Fairy Flora and Basic Grey's - Sweet Threads pads.

Lastly the back, not so covered this time.......

I have also started making little white boxes to store them in, so they don't get damaged.

Well that's it from me, please let me know what you think, it is always nice to get comments from fellow crafters.

Take care
Joanne

Saturated Canary Card 1

Hi there

Well after having to go back to work :( I am now trying to find my mojo I had before work got in the way of me creating.  So while I am trying to find that I thought I would share another of my cards I made last week.

The image is a digi image by Krista at Saturated Canary they are sooo cute!!!

I coloured her with my Spectrum Noir Pens, had a few issues with them bleeding even though I used the Epson printer with the Dura Brite Ink and had them sitting for a few days to completely dry, if anyone can help on that problem I would be greatful for suggestions.

A few close ups......

The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts as is the silver corner.  The Swirl die is a Doo-hickey die and the image is cut out using a spellbinder die.

The inside.......

Close up pics of the inside.......

The papers are a mixture of Basic Grey - Gypsy and Kaisercraft - Made with love and Sweet Nothings.  The wee glass butterfly on the swirl is from Prima.

Picture of the Back which I covered mainly as I only had one square of the cardstock left and thought I may as well use it up, I also found the doiley already sprayed up in my stash and it was a perfect match so had to use it too :) .......

Well, I hope you like my card today, do go check out the Satuared Canary Etsy shop she has lots of really cool, funky images.

Until next time, take care

Fairy Card

Hi there

As promised here is one of my holiday creations, the image is from Whimsy Stamps Sylvia Zet Digi Image "Silver Fairy" and she is a darling.

I am still struggling with getting the shading etc using the Spectrum Noir pens, but slowly getting there I think.  The gorgeous papers are from the pad (actually I am not sure what the name is but this is what's on the pad front) The Bright Side of Life by Karola Witczak, the individual pages have "The ScrapCake" on them so this maybe the brand name???

Some close up pics.......

The cute wee fence die is a Doo-hickey die from Magnolia, the flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, which if I can figure out how to I will enter this card into their Week 40 Challenge - Anything Goes.

I am also going to enter this card into the Ribbon Girls Colour Challange No. 15 - Blue & Pink.

Pics of the insides.......

And lastly the back.......

Well I hope you like it, I will back soon with my other 2 cards.

Have a great day or night :)

Cheers

Holidays Over

Hi there

Well sadly today is my last day of holidays, back to the real world of work tomorrow :(.  The weather has been fantastic this year with only a few days of cooler weather.

While my darling husband has been busy painting and repairing the outside of our house, I have been having a ball playing in my scrap room :) I have managed to make the Kaiser book ends, and colour 3 images with the spectrum noir pens and make them into 3 cards, which is really good for me, all in the space of a week or so.

But first some pics of the house, she's a big job!!!

Alot of the weather boards on the south and east wall had rotted, nothing to do but replace them, which then let us put in the pink batts for insulation.  Sean is now round the front of the house painting.  My poor gardens are suffering ALOT!!!

I will post my creations shortly.

Bye for now, anyone still lucky enough to be on holiday, enjoy them while you can!!!!

Cheers

Xmas Treats

Hi there

In my previous post I mentioned that in my first attempt at making a xmas cake I managed to burn it.  But never fear, thanks to my good friend Rach who sent me a link to Nigella's xmas pudding bon bons, I was able to use my slightly overcooked xmas cake and make some very yummy xmas treats!!!

They are soooo cute even if I do say so myself :)

So basically, you crumble up the cake add some apple juice, melted chocalate & golden syrup, roll into little balls.  I then coated them in melted chocalate before drizzling white chocalate on top.  Then using a holly leaf cutter and green fondant we cut the holly leaves and added a wee red ball for the berry.  (They are supposed to look like miniature xmas puddings, the white icing represents the custard that would normally go over a xmas pudding).

Cute don't you think??? Some close ups.......

And they were sooooo yummy, these didn't last long either!!!!

Well it is getting rather late, so bye for now, hopefully back to scrapebooking and cards tomorrow :)

Cheers

Happy New Year

Hi there

It has been a wee while, Christmas has been and gone along with the New Year, how does that happen???

Well I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and a very safe and happy New Year!!!

This Christmas my sister Christina and her husband Glen and 3 of their 4 girls came down from Wellington and stayed with us for a week.  It was sooo nice spending time with them again.

Now my sister just loves christmas cake, so this year I thought I would try making one and icing it.  Well my first attempt was not so good, Mum's recipe said to cook on really low temperature for 8 hrs, but my oven is obviously way hotter than what the recipe was meant for as I took it out after only 7 hrs and it was already burnt on the outside!!! :( but it wasn't wasted, as we cut the outsides off and used the rest for some other treats which I will show you latter.

Hence cake number two was monitored very closely, temperature set even lower and cake taken out of oven after only 6 1/2 hrs, and was perfect (very delicious tooo).

So here are some pictures, Rach & I have joined up with a local cake decorating guild and got a one on one lesson on how to put the almond & white icing on.

I cheated around the sides and just used some ribbons I had in my scrapbooking stash.  The snowflakes are made out of the white icing using cutters and brushed with eadible glitter.  The reindeer are made from chocalate fondant and the snowman is made from white fondant so all eadible too.  Rach found pictures of these on the internet so we had an afternoon at her house making them.  It is quite fun although you do have to have a lot of time and patience.

So I was quite please with my first efforts, and it must have tasted yummy as the cake only lasted a week.  For part of my sister's christmas prezzy my DH made a lovely rimu tray and I filled it with lots of yummy goodies, one item being a smaller christmas cake (which I brought uniced, as I didn't have time to make a cake before our lesson) which I decorated with a red fondant bow.

You can just see in the above pic a bit of a sheen on the bow as I sprayed the cake with an pearl lustre cake spray.  My sister couldn't believe her eyes when she unwrapped her prezzy, a christmas cake just for her!!! (and Glen of course if he is lucky).

Check out Rach's blog and also here to see her amazing xmas cakes.

Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoyed it!
Cheers
